I finally got a sunny enough day yesterday to get some OK pictures of Kaels room. I wish I had been smart enough to take before pictures of this room because when we moved in it was the one eye sore. It had floral wallpaper from floor to ceiling along with matching floral curtains. At first glance we said we could pull the wallpaper down ourselves and after trying for all of 5 minutes started looking people up on google who could pull it down- aint nobody got time for that. After the wallpaper came down I picked to use Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter on the walls. It is a perfect mix between gray and beige and I thought was perfect for a little boys room. If we were staying in the house long term I would have replaced the carpets with a lower pile, BUT since we aren't here very long it was not worth the investment. We picked to get a Daybed from Ballard Design instead of a traditional twin bed because we felt like this is a piece that can continue to grow with us. Once Kael is fully used to being in a " big boy "bed and Pippa has grown out of her crib she will get this bed and he will move into a larger one. I also thought that this bed felt a little cozier and safer than your traditional twin bed. I love that there in a trundle underneath for nights when there are "Monsters under his bed" we pull that out and sleep on it. When all of our children are done sleeping in it we think it could be a perfect piece for a office of living room. I wanted his room to feel like a little boys room but not too old or too young when a friend recommended this map from Ikea the room kinda took off from there! His favorite part by far is the land of the nod teepee (his favorite hiding spot which causes Mom many headaches ) If any of you are interested in any of the other sources for the room feel feel to leave a comment below and I will happily share!! I still have a couple more things I would like to add to his room but they will likely wait until we move to our next home. iI hope you guys have an awesome Wednesday!

Monday Musing...
I hope you guys all had a good weekend. Ours was low key and relaxing which is just what we needed both of my kids have been battling winter time colds and we all just needed to hunker down and relax under some blankets on the sofa ( and obsessively watch breaking bad while they nap ) My sister her Husband and their son came over for dinner on Saturday which was nice- my nephew is now sitting up on his own so watching him and Pippa stare at each other was hilarious. I am so excited to see how their relationship grows as they both become more independent -I have a feeling this summer we are going to have our hands full. When they left my husband noted that I am getting much better at having people over for dinner. When we first got married and we invited someone over I was a basket case running all over the place not sure how to manage my meal and totally uncomfortable in the kitchen it was a HOT ( and burnt ) mess. My go to meals these days are soups so for Saturday I made a chicken tortilla soup that was really good I paired it with a deconstructed guacamole salad and it was the perfect meal.
While cruising pinterest this weekend I came across this daily page notepad. Basically it is a a notebook where you record all of the things that happened within your day ( goals, appointments, calorie intake ) -it is supposed to be a great way to look back over your year and see how much has changed based off your commitment to your goals. I love it. I especially love the space to fill in how much water you have taken in throughout the day. I am so bad at drinking enough water and as a exclusively breastfeeding Mother it is kinda extra important. I also love the idea of seting daily goals for myself, as a stay at home mom the days and weeks can start to run into each other so I am finding giving myself task and goals to " check off " my list in satisfying. You can find the Notepad over at the blog Thyme is Honey.

The Little Things
I have been feeling super tired lately in the mornings, when my son comes in at 6:30 waking me up like a ball full of energy I feel frazzled and like I am starting my day off on a off balanced foot. So today I started a new routine and will now start waking up before him in order to get in a cup of coffee read any blogs or work on my own blog and just take a couple of deep breaths before the craziness of the days starts. If you live pretty much anywhere in this country you know that the weather this winter has been unbelievably crappy and it has me longing to wear summer clothes and sandals and pack the kids in the car without a pile of coats blankets hat mittens. I also am a person that suffers from a touch of seasonal depression I need the sun and when I dont get it it seriously changes my mood my motivation to do things and raises my anxiety level. Anxiety with a almost three year old and a 7 month old do not mix so I have been trying really hard these last weeks of winter to keep my head above the water and focus on positive things. I look to find the positive in the smallest amounts of good news, a really fun chapter in a book I am reading, a funny new expression Kael is saying, a milestone that Pippa is mastering. I am trying hard this time around to really soak in all the goodness that comes with an infants-with Kael I was so focused on getting to the next part " I can't wait for him to eat real foods, I cant wait for him to crawl, I can't wait for him to walk " and then when all of it happened I was in tears wishing for my small dependent baby back. Why did I care so much? He was going to do it eventually what was the true rush of it all ? I spent too much time worrying about the next I am afraid I didn't enjoy the present enough. So this time Im savoring and soaking in each and every moment of the "neediness" and enjoying each new development as it comes bc they really are true babies for such a short period of time. Yesterday my soon to be sister in law ( who I love ) gave me the dates for her bacherlorette party and said " start swimsuit shopping " those three words got me so giddy ( finding happiness in the smallest things ) the idea of a all girl weekend away this summer is just what I needed to get me through the 20 degree temperatures. So in the spirit of summer hurrying the F up I thought I would post some of my favorite spring/summer items that are starting to show up on the shelves.
Im loving this hot pink maxi ( Im a maxi loving girl ) it would be great for a summer wedding or cocktail party
I wore a ton of white eyelet dresses last summer and I am still loving them I would wear a white dress all summer long love them!
Obsessed with this coverup from ASOS
Love the scalloped detail on these shorts these above are also from Asos
Graphic tshirts are all the rage right now most of them I could take or leave but this one I love, I spent some much time growing up in Nike Air tshirt from my soccer days this play on it makes me laugh
It is sold and so therefore I doubt it can ever be mine but this Mara Hoffman pom pom bag is so good
Im thinking about jumping on the overall trend bandwagon and heres why. They are comfortable and I can do my mom duties in them and still pretend to be kinda cool - the ones above are adorable but expensive. Im looking for a cheaper pair because Im not sure how long this trend will last.
Thats all I got for you , its still freezing outside my little ones still have a cold but it sure did lift my spirits a little bit dreaming of the warmth of sweet summertime .

On My Bedside Table
Monday Monday!! Im so tired we stayed up late watching that mess of a Superbowl I had such secondhand embarrassment for the Broncos it was hard to watch. We had a great day yesterday it reached 60 degrees here so we spent a lot of time outside at the park I tilted my face to the sun and tried to soak in as much as possible. Its gone already and a rainy ugly mess outside now - until next time sun ,I love you you make my days dazzling. ( officially counting down the days till our move to Houston ) I have been a reading machine lately I am flying thru books which means I am staying up way too late at night trying to finish them which is one of my worst habits but I just can't help myself I am a sucker for a good book.

The First up one I have seen on the shelves for a while and assumed I wouldnt enjoy it until my neighbor told me I had to read it " where'd you go bernadette " it was was a comedy mystery and family drama all tied into one. The main character Bernadette is a absolute riot and the book keeps you thinking the entire time and fittingly enough the story takes place in Seattle ( Congrats Seahawks fans ) If you are looking for a light funny read this is the one for you.
The next book The Husband Secret is def a little darker I read it right before Where'd You Go, Bernadette. It is about 3 women and how one persons terrible secret pulls their lives together and how they are each affected differently by this heavy secret. I loved it but I was definitely ready for a light read after finishing it. I don't want to give too much away but it is a good I couldn't put it down.
I hope you guys have a great start to your week. Of course I am excited for the Bachelor tonight because I have been sucked into that train wreck of a show yet again. Just a random question. Why do all the girl cry? Did they all seriously think they were going to marry this dude. Super Delusional - I love it.
