Monday, Monday

We definitely have a little bit of the Monday blues over here after such a busy weekend with family in town. Happily this week in only a 4 day week and we have some fun things lined up for next weekend so we can't really feel too blue. Our Penelope Yvette is officially 1 year old. How? How I say!? Wasn't I just having an anxiety attack about my c- section surgery and obsessing over all the things thing that could go possibly wrong while massively pregnant chasing a newly 2 year old? Wasn't I just marveling at the fact that it was actually a beautiful little girl with 10 fingers and 10 toes after months speculating that I was really carrying a boy despite what the doctors had told me. How does time seem to go so fast? I have heard the saying a million times the days are long but the years are short and man oh man is that so spot on when raising children. She had a great Birthday my stepmom and littlest Brother were in town and my sister and her son Gavin came by. We went swimming, cooked out on the grill and enjoyed some cupcakes. It was a perfect way to celebrate the Birthday girl. My biggest surprise over the weekend was how wonderful Kael was to his sister on her Birthday. I wasn't sure how this was going to go.  Happily from the moment she woke up he was singing her happy birthday, gingerly helping her open her gifts and seemed truly happy that the day was about Miss Pippa. It was seriously adorable. Here are some pictures from our weekend! Hope you guys had a good one too.

Miss Girl is Almost 1!!

Hello!! Sorry for so much silence here! My house has been hit with a series of summer colds which in my book are the WORST. No one wants to lay in bed when the sun is peeking in your window. We are all finally feeling much better and excited to celebrate Miss Pippas Birthday tomorrow! I can not believe my sweet girl will be a year old. I feel like I had her just yesterday but at the same time I can't really remember life without her. We already had her Birthday party at the beach a couple weeks back but will be having a few neighbors and friends from Virginia over on Saturday for some cake and Pizza. My Stepmom and little brother will also be in town to celebrate since they weren't able to make her party a couple weekends back. So needless to say Kael is all fired up about his best buddy Casey coming to town. In the spirit of my littlest one turning ONE I thought I would share some of my favorite little girl things across the web lately! I will be back on Monday to share some pictures of Pippas Birthday weekend!!

I broke down and purchased this little walker by Plan Toys for Pippa for her 1st Birthday I couldn't help myself it is so darn cute and we don't have much pink yet in our playroom.

One of my favorite bloggers ( Peppermint Bliss ) opened up their own home store a couple of years ago and it just keeps getting better and better I LOVE their newest quilt called the Tabitha quilt especially in the blue for a little girls room

We're HOME!!!

Me and the kiddos are back after spending two weeks in Avalon, NJ a little shore town in New Jersey were my Husbands family has a house. I had multiple events up there the last three weekends so instead of trekking the kids back and forth we decided to stay and enjoy the beach. It was a great trip filled with family, sand, wagon rides, ice cream and quality time with my sister and one of my closest friends Allie. BUT it is so nice to be home, there is just something so great about the feeling you get when you walk in the door after being gone for a while. I have missed writing this little blog the last two weeks but with trying to wrangle the two kids in a different house and keep them entertained I didnt have much time. Last weekend we had Pippa's first birthday a little early. She turns 1 on the 27th but since we were up there with a lot of family anyway we decided to have it early. I had been trying to decide for a while what I wanted to do for her Birthday party and found some gorgeous botanical parties on Pinterest and decided I had to do it. I had the best time running back and forth to Michaels Craft Store picking up the materials I needed. I also learned how to make a little flower crown for her which I think I will save for her one year pictures. The party ended up being a success here are a couple of pictures from the fun day!
