Headed to the Low Country..

We have packed up the kiddos and headed down to the low country for a week with my side of the family. I make that sound easy but packing for two kids for a week while having realtors in and out of the house is not a joke. Let/ just say I have earned a vacation. This is a trip I have been taking all my life so I am love sharing it with my children, especially Kael now that he is at a age that really " gets it ". All time spent with our families is special but this one is especially special to me because I am not sure if we will be going the next two summers since we will be living over seas. SO I will be soaking in all the Southern Charm and sand between my toes that my little heart can handle. Have a great weekend guys!

5 Favorite Things...

Happy Hump Day everyone!! We are busy packing to leave from the Scott Family summer vacation but I thought I would pop in and let you know some of the things I am lusting after and loving at the moment.
You all know my love for a good book so I was SO excited when the author of The Husbands Secret Liane Moriarty came out with a new one. I am so excited to read it during nap time on vacation!

Le sigh..can she do any wrong? I mean she is even somehow pulling off that lilac hair with incredible grace?!?!? How? Not sure but it is working for her! Her new show on VH1 candidly Nicole is hilarious and obviously I LOVE checking out what she is wearing every week.

You guys know that the Honest Company is now being sold in Target right? So happy about this! I picked up their hand sanitizing spray and I can not get enough of it! Its perfect to spray on the kids hands when loading them in the car after riding in the store shopping carts. Love it! Can't rave about it enough this company is so so clever

I have yet to pull the Birkenstock trigger bc I could not decide on the color or if they were going to be a one summer wonder. Well I am SO glad that I waited to pull the trigger because the metallic pair came across my Instagram feed from Nordstrom  yesterday and I think I am in going to have to do it. Stylish, go with everything and they are super comfortable! Win win in my opinion.

Ace & Jig is quickly becoming one of my favorite brands to wish for. I love how soft their clothing is and I love the prints and colors that they use. This top with be a perfect transitional piece into the fall!

I am really into hats these days, it instantly makes a outfit have a little Jazz and they can hide a bad hair day. I am loving this one from Free People for the fall! A pair of jeans a white tshirt and this hat and you have a instantly cute outfit.

Weekend Recap

I have a new name guys! Its " Kaels Mommy"  This weekend we went to the 4H carnival at Frying Pan Farm an adorable hands on farm in our town and one of Kaels little buddies from our neighborhood referred to me as " Kaels Mommy " and I melted. I can remember thinking of my friends parents this way and it is hysterical that I am now in that light. My best light if you ask me!

Here is Kael and his little friend Eli taking in all the cool tractors

Even Pippa got in on the fun

On Saturday we did a lot of decluttering around the house in preparation to put it on the Market. Around lunch time when I couldn't look at our stuff anymore we drove to the town over called Clifton and went to the MOST adorable restaurant called Sullivans. It offers simple foods like hot dogs hamburgers salads a HUGE list of gourmet fries and of course ice cream. The seating area has tons of games out on the table and scattered around the yard. I love the relaxed vibe and that the kids can wander around playing while we wait for our food to come out. After lunch we strolled around the little town of Clifton and took in all its charm, while Kael ate him ice cream. This is my favorite town in Fairfax County it has so much soul to it and a huge huge park where the kids can run and play.. we will definitely be making more visits their before we ship off to China.

#rogersdoshanghai

So as I mentioned yesterday the Rogers house has been busy with lots of new things happening the biggest and most life altering among those things is that we will be moving to Shanghai China in October. YUP you read it correctly CHINA. This all started a couple months back when my Husband called me from work and asked me if I would be OK moving to China, I promptly hung up on him. Im sorry have you met me..this girl loves her United States of America. Around a hour or so later he called me back whispering that he was serious and his boss was waiting on him to come back and talk to him because they were thinking of putting him up for a position over there. I told him obviously I would be supportive of whatever he needed to do for his career and then bee lined it to fridge and began eating my feelings. For about 6 weeks we had to kinda wait around while they made the decision about who got the job and Husband J would say it probably wasn't happening until it happened and he was told that he got the job. I kid you not I immediately googled " can I get Bravo TV in China" followed by " Is there a Target in China " We have talked with a couple of relocation people and my top question on all my lists is how can I stream TV from the US to China which received many irritated looks from Husband J...

Guys..this is going to be a lot for me but I am going to do it knowing that it is a temporary ( around 2 years ) move and that it will do amazing things for my family. We are still waiting on our Visas and the kids passports but it looks as though we will be living in China by the middle of October which is honestly just terrifying but also pretty exciting. I will not turn this blog into only talking about " life in Shanghai " but I will definitely be filling you in on our adventures.

This quote below isn't really true for me I was perfectly happy staying in the little bubble that was Philadelphia/Bucks County PA. It seems however that Husband J's job has other plans for me so I have decided I am going to adopt this phrase and embrace it..Say a little prayer for my little family that this journey brings us lots of happiness and good fortune. Any of you out there been to Shanghai before? I would love to hear about your travels and also some tips!
