Time Flies..
Today is me and Husband J's two year wedding anniversary time sure does fly it feels like just yesterday I was planning { read as : micromanaging } our wedding to the teeni tiniest detail down to what color tablecloth the sushi roller would have. I absolutely loved the planning process and it was magical day at the time it was the best day of my life { Kaels birth has now drastically trumped the wedding day as my favorite day ever } but the longer I am married the more I realize that the BEST days are really what come AFTER the wedding. I am so proud of me and Jay and the life we are creating for one another and the home we continue to build everyday for Kael. So Happy Anniversary my love wouldn't want to be on this crazy ride with anyone else..

Embrace Messy
Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend mine is good I managed to get to the grocery store this morning and to my confusion it wasn't even OPEN yet, I felt funny like I was waving my Mommy flag way too high way too early in the morning. I couldn't just sit in the parking lot, desperate, waiting from them to open their doors but I was in South Philly at the BJ's Wholefoods so I didn't really know where to go to waste 30 minutes so I thought I would go and treat myself to a Pumpkin Spice Latte, no luck it seems that South Philly and Starbucks are having a standoff because there was not one for 20 block. So I settled and decide to drive through the McDonald's drive thru for some coffee the only thing I will eat from Mcdonalds {if you dont know why take a little peek at the book Fast Food Nation } I got to the window and asked for a Non Fat Grande Pumpkin Spice Latte, their reply " umm I think we can put carmel in the coffee " lol that response made my morning. I got home and half way through putting all the stuff away and was exhausted,stopped and as I sit here writing this post I am still looking at the other half of the groceries that needs to be put away. See..being a Mom is so fun, the best kind of fun but the ONE part that I am having trouble getting used to is the extra cleaning that it involves this mama never liked to clean and things didn't change when I gave birth. I'd rather be browsing my favorite blogs, facebook { btw what's with this new facebook, what MORE can it do its getting a little excessive people can already tell you exactly where they are who they are with accompanied with a map to the location so so creepy NO one needs to know that much about me }or just about anything other than cleaning. Husbands J's parents gave us a little cash in our card for our anniversary and that is going directly to a cleaning lady for a little treat to us both..below are some pictures of when messy can be kind of pretty they are also good examples of how my hair looks each and everyday..opps.

Happy Weekend!
Its the weekend!! I know I don't go into work everyday but weekends still are very exciting to me because Husband J is home and that means we get to do fun activities with Kael and there is an extra set of hands which means that Momma can RELAX a little bit. For me relaxing means soaking in the tub I love a nice long hot bath mixed with my favorite Lush bath balls and this amazing Laura Mercier Creme Brulee Honey bath bubbles that was given to me by my Stepmom when I gave birth to Kael those two things mixed with the new InStyle or People magazine and I can simmer for hours. When I get out I feel awesome and doesn't a hard working stay at home Mom thats covered in spit up most of the day deserve to feel awesome every once in a while. Im pretty excited for this upcoming weekend we are going to to take Kael to pick apples and Im going to attempt my first ever apple pie AND its me and Husband J's two year wedding anniversary time sure does fly..happy weekend everyone. By the way how amazing are these tubs below a barefoot tub is on my list of " next house " purchases so Dreamy!

Mommy Uniform
So the rain today wasn't great but I am not going to lie I am enjoying the cool weather! I have also been enjoying going through my fall clothes since I was pregnant this time last year i feel like all my fall clothing is new because I haven't worn them in so long. I dont have many places to wear many of these clothes my days consist mostly of going for walks, chillin with Kael at our new hang out nest and strolling through the grocery store that just opened in our neighborhood { not gonna lie it was a huge highlight around here } below is an example of a perfect fall Mommy uniform { Starbucks is included because it is a must when your child is not sleeping through the night yet }

Eye Candy
Happy Monday Everyone its almost over and thats not such a bad thing. For me Mondays are always such a blah day it takes me till about 12 in the afternoon to get rid my case of " the Mondays " and figure out what I want Im going to do to make the most of the day . We had a good weekend over here on Saturday Kaels Paternal Grandmother came over and Husband J and I went down to the stadium and tailgated for the Penn State { Husband J's alma mater } and Temple football game. It was nice to be out among the fans { read : drunk college kids } tailgating it is one of me and my Husbands favorite activities to do together and we both enjoy it equally. Though on Saturday he enjoyed it a little bit more than me I think { the mind erasers and vodka transfusions can be thanked for that } I stuck to a couple of nice light beers and was MUCH happier come Sunday morning, Husband J was hurting. Sunday we went and helped surprise my good friend Halla for her Birthday and had a 30th Anniversary dinner for Husband J's parents. It was a busy but fun weekend and I was sad to see it come to a end. Today felt so much like fall I had my first Pumpkin Spice latte of the season and I picked out Kaels first Halloween costume. I am so excited for all of the holidays coming up! I thought I would leave you guys with a little eye candy I found these sparkly bookends here that would look perfect on a desk or on a book shelf love them, I might just have to put them on my Christmas list!

Im "that" Mom
Happy Labor Day everyone! Can't believe how fast this summer has gone, I mean I feel like we have barely left the house. I have spent so much time worrying about the heat, the sun rays and the damn mosquitos summer seems to have just moseyed on by us oh well..BYE summer see you next year when Kael can wear sunscreen, drink water, and use insect repellent. So remember when I was pregnant and I posted wondering what type of Mom I would be, I was so sweetly unaware so nonchalant wondering innocently, I had no idea that something was going to come into my hospital room and take over my body the minute I birthed a child. It is time blog world for me to introduce to my new alter ego { what Lady Gaga had one why can't I..wtf was that by the way } we will just call her Germophobe Janet, yup Im " that " Mom furiously cleaning pacifiers any time they touch a surfaces that hasn't been furiously cleaned in a couple of hours. I have NEVER been a germ freak and now..I see them taunting me everywhere I turn. I try so hard to be that cool easy " ohh its not big deal that he just put his mouth on the dirty seat buckle in the airplane " Mom but I just am NOT. There, I have confessed and we can move forward. I have to get a grip. I am still exclusively nursing Kael and he is exhausting me { he is 18 pounds } I literally wake up in the middle of the night with extreme thirst nothing seemed to be able to quench it besides this and this stuff gets pricey so it was time to start Kael on some solids. I am sticking to my guns and though it will be more work for me I am going to make most of his food so I got all my stuff together and taadaa he is eating cereal like a big boy { tear } Here are some pictures of my sweet boy enjoying his homemade solids..

Food Friday
Its my FIRST Food Friday!! Ok so I kind of cheated I have made this salad once before { for Kael's Christening } but the truth is we went to Jays Mom Moms house last Saturday and she sent us packing with a TON of delicious frozen Italian food so my fridge is packed and it didn't really make sense for me to make a big dish when we already have so much food to get through. I didn't want to flake out on my first Food Friday so I decided I would make this salad to go with our Italian dishes. Ok first off I have to give credit where credit is due my friend Steph Schneider who lives up the street from me made me this salad one night when Kael was first born Jay was traveling, I was feeling overwhelmed hadn't ventured our of the house in days { read: weeks } and I was wearing the same PJ's I wore home from the Hospital { JK...kinda } she came and she saved me from a life of shoving my hands in the pretzel bag and introduced me to real people life again { aka this salad } It is amazing I still haven't mastered making it as well as she does { what IS it that you put in it Steph?...is it crack } So since she gave it to me in my time of need I am giving it back to YOU So simple so tasty..enjoy!!
Ingredients
Baby Romaine Lettuce
Bacon { I use turkey bacon }
Granny Smith Apples
Feta Cheese
Walnuts, Almonds { Any kind of nut you desire } Truth: I forgot the nuts but Jay didn't even notice
Strawberries { I got a little crazy at the end and added these in on my own }
